Not Jam Atomic 20
A downloadable font
About
Not Jam Atomic 20 is a grunge pixel font heavily inspired by the font used in Nuclear Throne. Set font size to multiples of 20 in order to render correctly.
The font is 20px in height, and is available for use in any commercial or non-commercial projects, without limitation.
Download includes the font in .ttf format and a copy of the licence, along with all glyphs in .png format and a couple of JSON files which will allow you to import and edit the font using YellowAfterlife's Pixel Font Converter - instructions below!
If you use this font in your work I'd love to see it! Leave links in the comments below and I'll check them out
Also included within this pack is Not Jam Atomic 24 - a 24px height font using the same letter forms as Not Jam Atomic 20, but with added support for most Latin-1 Supplemental and Latin Extended A unicode characters.
Editing
Included within the download is a .png image containing all glyphs, along with 2 .json files containing settings for YellowAfterlife's Pixel Font Converter, which together will allow for quick and easy editing of the font if you need to make any changes.
- Open the .png file in the image editing software of your choice
- Make the required changes before saving a copy in .png format
- Follow the link to Pixel Font Converter
- Use the "pick image" button to upload the edited copy of the glyphs
- Use the import button to upload the .json file, making sure to select the 20px variant if you only need the basic latin glyphs or the 24px variant for the extended set.
- Feel free to update the metadata to reflect changes :)
- Once you're happy, use the save ttf button in the top right to export your new .ttf format font file
- If you're likely to want to make further edits, I recommend also using the export button to export your new settings as .json

I like it, nice work !!
this looks really cool!!!
I might try messing with this for some of our horror games
we have a question on this though. It says public domain (CC0 I think)
did you have to file a form to do that, or did you just need to put the license logo in and say 'its public domain now'
We're trying to figure out how to make public domain work for a future concept.
Thank you! Really glad you like it :)
CC0 is simple enough, at the most basic level you can just declare the work to be CC0 within the page description, although you can also use the Creative Commons website to generate a licence notice if you so choose.
Even better is including the licence terms in the metadata for the software - for instance, in my fonts I'll add CC0 to the licence metadata field - this would depend on the nature of the software of course.
Itch also lets you provide the licence for assets and code in page metadata under the Release section, which has the added benefit of helping boost your visibility to people searching for CC0 assets.
Best of luck with the concept! :)
looks great!
Thank you! :)
