Quick update to fix a few of the more egregious bugs and problematic elements, including:

  • Audio: player footsteps, jumping and landing sfx added
  • Audio: minor update to level music (absent hats restored on certain beats)
  • Audio: increased range of spawn-in audio effect and added random pitch scale to each instance to make easier to differentiate and reduce odd phase effects
  • Bug fix: set enemy facing automatically instantaneously on spawn
  • Bug fix: enemy rotation to face player performs as expected, and projectiles fired in accordance with enemy facing as shot occurs rather than current vector to player
  • Bug fix: preserve player settings on new session
  • Bug fix: align possession raycast with camera rather than centre of player body
  • Balance fix: minor increase to enemy damage and projectile speed to account for increased ease of avoiding incoming projectile

Please note that this patch has significant balance implications, as the game is now significantly less lethal and avoiding incoming fire is much more manageable. This works well for the early game, but the difficulty is going to need to increase as time goes on - I have some ideas for this, please keep an eye out for future updates!

There's a fair few outstanding bugs I'm aware of that I'm looking to fix in subsequent updates, but please let me know if you find anything unusual so I can look into it :)
