About

Undead Pixel Light 8 is a slim pixel font designed for general purpose use, intended to be a good compromise between size and legibility. Set font size to multiples of 8 in order to render correctly.

The font is 8px in height, and is available for use in any commercial or non-commercial projects, without limitation. I've left this one with no in-built line spacing as default to afford the user maximum flexibility - you should set this manually in your software of choice according to your requirements.

Download includes the font in .ttf format and a copy of the licence, along with all glyphs in .png format and a couple of JSON files which will allow you to import and edit the font using YellowAfterlife's Pixel Font Converter - instructions below!

If you use this font in your work I'd love to see it! Leave links in the comments below and I'll check them out

Also included within this pack is Undead Pixel Light 11 - an 11px height font using the same letter forms as Undead Pixel Light 8, but with added support for most Latin-1 Supplemental and Latin Extended A unicode characters.

Editing

Included within the download is a .png image containing all glyphs, along with 2 .json files containing settings for YellowAfterlife's Pixel Font Converter, which together will allow for quick and easy editing of the font if you need to make any changes.

  1. Open the .png file in the image editing software of your choice
  2. Make the required changes before saving a copy in .png format
  3. Follow the link to Pixel Font Converter
  4. Use the "pick image" button to upload the edited copy of the glyphs
  5. Use the import button to upload the .json file, making sure to select the 8px variant if you only need the basic latin glyphs or the 11px variant for the extended set.
  6. Feel free to update the metadata to reflect changes :)
  7. Once you're happy, use the save ttf button in the top right to export your new .ttf format font file
  8. If you're likely to want to make further edits, I recommend also using the export button to export your new settings as .json

hey, I found your Twitter link to your fonts pack - but searching on the Game Assets page on itch.io using only the tags "fonts" and cc0" only shows this font in the search results and none of the others. Not sure how itch tag/index system works but just thought I'd let you know!

GORGEOUS fonts by the way, thank you *so* much for providing these for free!

Thanks so much :) happy to release them for free, I use so much open source software that I'm just glad I'm able to give back to the community in some small way

The search function here is really odd, it's been this way for quite a while now - just searching "font" returns none of these for me, even where I've used it as a tag. It's very confusing and not ideal, hopefully we get a fix for it at some point.

Really appreciate you taking the time to pass this on - thank you :) hope you find a good use for the fonts!

I used Undead Pixel Light 11 for Tried And True Brew. Thanks so much!

Dex Carlisle for the June jam. (This may end up being an ongoing thread because I really like the font.) Thanks again.

Hello again! Sorry for being persistent (I am not sure that google translated this word correctly) but read this comment about using pixel outline mode for export... It isn't optimized.... And your fonts doesn't need it. I am sure for 99% because maybe somewhere you will hit a problem but only for that font you will need pixel outline.... You should use previous outline mode which isn't default now...

Again pixel outline produces this:

When normal outline mode produces this:
